Doug started keeping bees in the Forest of Dean as a hobby in 1975. He was given one hive by a local bee keeper, and from there the number of hives grew and grew.
Hudnalls Apiaries has developed into a family run business located over-looking the river Wye where the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley meet the Welsh border counties.
The hives are now distributed throughout the broad leaf woodlands of the Forest of Dean and the varied pasture lands of the Welsh Marches. This gives the Honey a distinctive mix of tree and blossom pollen, making it a very high quality. The temperate climate created by the Welsh mountains protects the bees from the cold westerly winds allowing them to pollinate flowers from early spring until late autumn.
After a lifetime working with bees, Doug has now retired and looking forward to living in the Loire Valley.
