No turkeys at Usk Farmers' Market this year

Monmouth Turkeys have traditionally taken orders for Christmas Organic Bronze Turkeys for delivery to the market on December 23rd. i Caroline was at the very first pilot market in November 1998 and has been regularly supplying the market over the years. Please see the following message for Juliet.

I'm sorry to say that we aren't rearing turkeys this year.

We have made significant changes to the way we farm in the last year, committing ourselves to low carbon food production and a wildlife-led approach.

Practically, this means only producing what the farm can feed itself, and at a level which improves and supports biodiversity.  So no turkeys, as they currently rely on imported feed.

But we are producing organic, pasture-fed beef.  If you'd like to find out any more about what we're up to, please take a look at our website.

We don't have another turkey producer to recommend, and we're sorry not to see you on the run-up to Christmas this year.

We'd always welcome you to the farm if you're ever this way.

Best wishes

Juliet Holt-Wilson
